Exposition stand design identity for Milan design week 2022 "Salone Satellite"
This projects main objective was representing the Art Academy of Latvia internationally, highlighting this year's theme of "sustainability". Creation of communication materials, design of stand information and participation in the exhibition. Highlighting the problem of overproduction of goods and their short life cycles are a major factor in environmental pollution. Often, oversupply outstrips demand, creating a surplus that is later thrown away.
The mending of the world is more relevant than ever. It is ripping apart by seams, it is falling apart in new economic and political formations, it is so overproduced in production and consumption that it can no longer be left tofuture generations. Therefore researching the habits of a generation of seniors experienced also war, deportation, scarcity - it was concluded that using things for a long time and mending them in today’s climate change situation could be one of the most rational solutions we could do. Sock is as one of the simplest and most necessary garments in modern and ancient ethnography, as a metaphor for any 21st century product that supports the daily human needs and comfort.
